Hana Tanimura chats with Alice Weightman about role models and following her gut

Hana Tanimura, Senior Designer at Google Creative Lab and winner of the Women of Tomorrow Awards 2016, chats with Alice Weightman on the Inspiring Stories podcast. Hana shares her achievements, challenges, and advice for other women looking to succeed in the tech and creative industries today.

Hana’s top tip?

“It’s not enough to work hard. It’s not enough to be good at your job. It’s not enough to get better results than everybody else. Of course, you need to do really good work – that’s essential. But it’s also essential to think about your career. Take some of the time away from doing a great job and use it to think about what it is that you want, how you wish to progress in your career, where you want to be in six months’ time. We don’t spend enough time thinking about our career progression. Things change all the time. What I might want in six months’ time right now, might feel different in six months’ time. It’s really important to check in regularly and often. Otherwise, you can feel that you’re waking up from a dream five years later and not understand how you got there.”

Tune in for Hana’s inspiring story.
