Senior Reporter Job (US Private Real Estate Market), New York

I am working with a global intelligence firm, specialising in progressive investment markets, who are looking for a Senior Reporter to join their growing editorial team. You will be working in the New York offices in the Real Estate publications division.

The successful candidate will provide coverage of the US private real estate market for an online and magazine editorial offering, reporting directly to its Editor.

Your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Working closely with the publication Editor and team Editor-in-Chief to determine the overall editorial direction and execution strategy for the publication
  • Contribute to the editorial agenda
  • To keep updated on key news and events in the marketplace with a view to producing coverage for both
  • Determine, pitch, research and write off-diary analysis and insight features
  • To break exclusive news on events in the US real estate market
  • Where appropriate, to contribute to sponsored coverage programme
  • To write regular commentaries, as well as maintain commentary on social media channels.
  • To oversee the weekly Blueprint email newsletter, including idea generation and providing, assigning, compiling and editing items.
  • To chair and write up thought leadership initiatives, including roundtable discussions.
  • To assist in the data collection and validation for signature rankings and lists
  • To participate in events, both on-stage and digitally
  • To attend and, on occasion, participate in associated industry events
Requirements – Senior Reporter: 
  • Formal Journalism education or training is a must
 Essential Requirements – Senior Reporter:
  • Prior experience covering real estate or financial news
  • Ability to demonstrate an aptitude for proprietary analyses writing and exclusive news reporting in both digital and print
Essential Knowledge / Skills – Senior Reporter:
  • A keen networker, with the ability to establish and cultivate relationships with industry contacts through in-person and virtual meetings, sector events and social media channels such as LinkedIn.
