Our client is a fully integrated, independent consultancy, providing a comprehensive range of services including public affairs, public policy, digital social media, association management, crisis communications, event planning, analysis, media relations, and intelligence. They firmly believe in the effectiveness of an integrated approach to advocacy and communication, delivering results that directly benefit business performance. They are looking for a Head of the Technology Public Affairs team to join their Brussels office.

As Head of the Technology Public Affairs team (director/partner level), you will support and influence the agency’s commercial goals through the delivery of exceptional client work and senior guidance. You will provide inspiration and direction to the team of 6 consultants, ensuring profitable and on-target project outcomes on large accounts. Moreover, you’ll oversee new business efforts, collaborating closely with senior and junior teams to meet set timelines and defined roles.

The role requires expert knowledge of pure Tech, along with broader fields such as MedTech, Mobility Tech, and extensive involvement in AI. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record and expertise in pure technology, particularly with significant experience collaborating with major tech companies to enhance the business’s credibility.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Create the business plan for the Public Affairs Technology Practice, making strategic decisions to benefit overall business growth.
  • Setting the team up for success on a day-to-day basis, whilst working with the clients to identify and address their emerging strategic needs.
  • To act as a trusted advisor to your clients and bring your expertise in running public affairs campaigns. Nurturing and expanding client relationships; identifying potential leads and areas of growth with existing clients, as well as broader new business leads.
  • Training and guiding junior team members and contributing to company culture.The role sits on the executive team, actively involved in agency management and advancement, demonstrating commitment to pushing the agency forward.

Key Requirements:  

  • Relevant consultancy experience, managing global accounts and experience with advising clients on international Public Affairs strategies in the digital/tech/medtech sector.
  • Expertise and network in the EU legislative and policy landscape.
  • Knowledge of managing day-to-day operations of client accounts, responding to client requests, delegating tasks and collaborating with the senior team.
  • Business development-oriented and proactive self-starter, able to attract clients and identify business opportunities.
  • Ambitious and entrepreneurial drive with the ability to hire, grow, develop and lead a team.
  • Naturally curious about economic, political and social matters, with a desire to stay up to date with the current news and trends.
