This is a fantastic opportunity for a Policy Manager to join a leading Institute to influence how quickly the UK moves towards a more sustainable food system. You will be joining a fast-growing team and be responsible for shaping their UK policy and driving public investment.

Our client is at the forefront of the movement towards sustainable and ethical food production. They work with scientists, businesses and policymakers to combat some of the world’s biggest problems, including climate change, global hunger and animal suffering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving policy work in the UK, responsible for identifying priorities and opportunities to promote the organisation’s sustainable impact
  • Develop and execute lobbying plans at a national level in the UK and, where opportunities arise, in the devolved administrations
  • Build alliances and work cooperatively with other organisations to amplify policy and advocacy through multiple channels
  • Monitor and tract relevant policy proposals, spotting opportunities and pre-empting possible threats

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working on policy at a national (UK or other country), EU or multilateral level – in one of government, public affairs agency, NGO, think tank or another relevant institution
  • Strong people skills – the ability to influence, network, build alliances and work well within a team
  • Strong writer and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working on one of more of these policy areas is desirable: research and innovation, food and agriculture, climate change or public health
  • A strong network of contacts at the UK policy level
