My client is a leading corporate communications firm, looking to hire a Managing Director to join their Private Equity Practice.

Candidates will have 8+ years’ experience providing communications counsel to financial sponsors either through client work at an agency or an in-house role at a private equity or financial services firm.

Candidates should possess the following: 

• Understanding of the private equity communications landscape including knowledge of relevant media and issues impacting the industry
• Network of sponsors, advisors and/or media around private equity industry
• Strong leadership skills and management experience
• Demonstrated strength in written and oral communication
• Excellent computer skills
• The ability effectively organize and prioritize multiple projects while under intense time pressure
• The ability to think creatively and strategically
• Exceptional attention to detail
• The flexibility to respond immediately, and at all times including nights and weekends to changing client needs
• The ability to work well in teams

Primary responsibilities include:

• Day to day client contact advising on the correct implementation of investor relations, public relations issues and crisis communications procedures at both the GP and portfolio-level
• Writing and editing press releases, investor / customer materials and other documents

• Counseling clients on the development of long-term IR and PR plans
• Cultivating relationships with reporters, editors and producers
• Identifying target audiences, developing key messages and documents, and responding directly to media inquiries

• Planning and conducting general industry research and background research on the firm’s clients or their competitors, and maintaining extensive knowledge base on a variety of industries
