At Ford Pro, the business unit responsible for the commercial vehicle segment around the world, they are seeking a self-directed, experienced comms professional who can lead Ford Pro communications in Europe and advise senior executives on internal and external comms strategy and execute successful communication programs.

The current Head of EU comms (highly respected and regarded) is leaving, and Ford Pro is using this as an opportunity to add the additional skill set and experience needed in software and tech.

This person will report into the Global Head of Ford Pro Communications and sit on the Ford Pro European leadership team, serving as the primary communications advisor to Ford Pro General Manager, Europe, and the rest of the leadership team.

They will also lead the European Ford Pro team responsible for communications strategies and message development across key areas of focus, partnering extensively with both the Ford Pro Marketing and Ford Communications teams in Europe.

This position will be based at the UK HQ, Dunton Technical Centre in Basildon, Essex on a hybrid working basis.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Head of Communications for Ford Pro Europe, you will:

  • Report to Ford Pro Global Communications, leading the European communications strategy.
  • Serve as a senior member of the Ford Motor Company European communications team and the Ford Pro Europe leadership team.
  • Collaborate with the global team to execute Ford Pro’s communication strategy in Europe.
  • Develop compelling thought leadership content, 360-degree communication campaigns, and investor relations tie-ins.
  • Lead European market programs and initiatives across earned, owned, and paid approaches.
  • Manage strategic media relations, internal communications, and communication measurement.

Key Requirements:

  • 12-15+ years of professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations or public affairs, in the automotive and technology, software or EV industry with exceptional written and verbal communications and strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Strategic comms experience – advanced knowledge of corporate brand, brand marketing, reputation management, issue-based communications, crisis management, and influencing via social media
  • Experience leading and developing high-performance teams, including both direct reports and an extended network of colleagues across Europe
  • Track record of success managing strategic communications efforts for a corporation directly or through a public relations/affairs agency
  • Automotive experience and either technology software or EV industry knowledge/experience
  • Experienced in B2B and Tech comms – well versed at devising strategies that reach the C-suite audience through financial analysts and B2B audiences
  • Ideally experience in IR and AR – important this person has worked with an investor audience before
