In your role as Global Affairs Adviser, you will be joining the Global Affairs Team that crucially monitors and analyses external trends, manages shareholder and stakeholder relations and informs on decisions and policies that matter most to the company. The role spans across public affairs and investor relations and engages with the development finance industry on international policy issues.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Engagement and monitoring of parliamentary debates and committees – awareness of these developments and policy issues and provide briefings and internal updates for the company  
  • Always ensuring good positioning and that staff are briefed for engagement as well as the development and maintenance of lines to take to document  
  • Creation of regular external briefing materials in addition to responding to and tracking formal and informal information requests from civil society and parliamentary organisations 
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of relationships as well as hosting meetings, networking receptions and attending events 
  • Drive engagement and understanding through a series of set piece activities 

Key Requirements: 

  • An established background in public affairs with a history of successfully influencing outcomes and an understanding of the UK parliamentary system and the relevant impacting policy  
  • An understanding of development finance and the financial sector in general 
  • Skilful writer with the ability to break down key topics and issues into more manageable and understandable concepts 
  • Effective communicator who is able roll up their sleeves and can adapt to changing circumstances whilst remaining efficient and successful 
  • To be motivated by the same ethos and ideology of the company with a commitment to further enhancing development and social goals around the world
