Our client is a leading Global Events Business with offices in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, specialising in organising B2B events across 12 different sectors. With a diverse portfolio encompassing aerospace, sustainability, education, sports, leisure, pets and vets, gardening and horticulture, and airlines, the company excels in both conferences and exhibitions. As the business continues to expand, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Director to lead their projects and contribute to the organisation’s growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead and direct the planning, execution, and success of diverse B2B events in alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Team Management: Build and manage a dedicated team, providing leadership and guidance. Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Build and lead the team from the ground up, utilising provided industry experts to support knowledge across different sectors (finance, education, sustainability, aerospace).
  • Cultural Adaptability: Demonstrate a deep understanding of working in the region, particularly in Saudi Arabia. Navigate cultural nuances and work effectively with a diverse team comprising expats from over 20 different countries.
  • Leadership and Commercial Skills: Exhibit excellent leadership skills and commercial understanding to collaborate effectively with the commercial team. Drive the team towards achieving organizational objectives.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Project Director or similar role, with a strong background in B2B events.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams, develop contacts, and lead successful projects.
  • Cultural curiosity and adaptability, especially in the Saudi Arabian business environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with diverse cultures and languages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the commercial team.
  • Previous freelance experience is preferred, highlighting resilience and adaptability.
  • Ambitious with a focus on growth, both for personal development and the organisation.
