We are working with a leading communications consultancy to find a Consultant in Brussels who has strong public affairs knowledge, specifically focused on EU policy in chemicals and sustainability. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Consultant to contribute to building a market leading team that provides strategic insight and clear chemical and sustainability political strategies to clients.

As a Consultant, you will use your expert knowledge of EU chemical and sustainability policy to help support and manage client accounts, working closely with the co-lead of the team to support team development, business growth opportunities and new marketing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use knowledge in the chemicals/sustainability sector and understanding of policy to prepare briefings and advise clients
  • Provide support to identify new business and market access opportunities
  • Supporting the Associate Director and Managing Director in implementing strategies whilst supporting the development of a broader sustainability team, helping to manage junior team members to ensure continued success
  • Working closely with the Director of Marketing to drive operation of the marketing strategy
  • Expand personal network, and by extension, the team’s network through event attendance and relationship building with key and relevant stakeholder

Key Requirements:

  • Proven knowledge and understanding of chemicals and sustainability regulations
  • Experience working in a public affairs team within a consultancy, a leading EU political institution or relevant in house organisation
  • Effectively time management and the ability to meet deadlines and have proven project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication ad the ability to bring creative ideas to new business proposals
  • Comfortable liaising and engaging with C-suite and senior management
  • Understanding of policies and its effect on the firms’ clients: including national, EU and international
