Our client, a cultural landmark in central London, is looking for its very first Communications Manager as they get ready to re-open their doors in 2025. If you love having your finger on the pulse of the latest in arts & culture around London, this could be the role for you!
As the Communications Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the marketing team and implementing the communications strategy, positioning it as a destination and global showcase for art, design, F&B, events, music, and entertainment.
Reporting into the Head of Placemaking, you will play a key role in managing the PR activity, focused on proactive media relations. You will be responsible for managing relationships with external communications and PR agencies to drive brand presence and engagement across audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement comprehensive multi-channel, external communications strategies and initiatives to enhance the destination’s online and offline presence via day-to-day management of appointed agencies
- Co-ordinate, draft and edit press releases, media kits, and other communications materials
- Support distribution of communications and provide comms-related administrative support to internal teams
- Manage the creation of relevant content across various channels, including social media, website, newsletters, and press releases
- Support collaboration with tenants and stakeholders to promote exhibitions, special events, and promotions through effective communication channels
- Uphold and enhance the cultural destination’s brand identity, ensuring consistent and resonant messaging for all destination initiatives
- Support implementation of crisis communication plans to address potential issues and safeguard the cultural destination’s reputation
Key Requirements
- Significant experience in a communications role, preferably within the cultural, destination, or tourism industry (in-house or agency)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an understanding of diverse audiences
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and cultural trends in London
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with various teams
- Experience in media relations and event promotion is advantageous
- Familiarity with London’s cultural landscape is highly desirable
