An exciting opportunity for an Associate Director to join a strategic advisory business in their Global Health and Life Sciences practice (HLS), based in London. You will join part of the leadership team of the HLS practice, helping to shape the strategy and lead engagement with a range of UK and international clients. This role is an ideal fit for a senior consultant with personal drive, UK political insight and commercial awareness to manage the needs of an exceptional portfolio of clients and to develop a growth strategy for the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert, strategic, actionable advice and thought leadership to their clients on the risks and opportunities arising from UK health-related politics, policy and regulation.
  • Tailor advice to clients ranging from the C-suite to public policy teams who are looking for guidance on UK-related issues in the health space.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of client work that will include policy analysis, guidance on political brand strategies, the development of cutting edge thought leadership and innovative approaches to public policy engagement and advocacy.
  • Lead business development campaigns and pitch processes including the development of health events as part of the team’s broader marketing campaigns and efforts to contribute to policy debate and discussion.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and a wide network of business and policymakers at senior levels.
  • Act as an ambassador for the business at relevant industry and policy events, and invest in developing the skills, expertise and reputation of yourself and others.

Key requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of the UK health policy landscape and experience of navigating the UK political and legislative processes.
  • At least six years’ experience providing public policy advice and/or working in a political environment, including working in the private sector, a trade association, consultancy or similar.
  • A track record of effective team leadership and development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in English.
  • A motivated self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
  • This is a full-time role based in London. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
