An established company is seeking an experienced, passionate Political and Public Affairs Manager in London. The successful candidate will be well-versed in the legal and political workings of Westminster and the Devolved Governments. Based in the UK, this individual will play a key role in shaping the company’s growth strategies and influencing decision-makers on critical topics like sustainability, circularity, food safety, and life cycle analysis. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned public affairs professional looking to make a significant impact within a dynamic and growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyse legislative and policy developments relevant to the business.
  • Develop and implement strategies to influence UK and EU policy and legislation.
  • Draft press releases, articles, newsletters, and reports. Manage the company’s online presence and foster collaboration with suppliers, customers, and competitors.
  • Cultivate relationships with lawmakers, government officials, influencers, and other decision-makers.
  • Attend relevant political events, hearings, and conferences, ensuring the company’s presence in key political forums.
  • Provide senior executives with political advice and insights on emerging trends, influencing strategic decisions.
  • Stay informed on UK and EU funding streams, legislative updates, and taxation changes.

Key Requirements:

  • Significant experience in Public and Media Affairs at a senior level, ideally within a multinational organisation.
  • Proven experience with UK government and/or EU parliament, with in-depth knowledge of legislative processes.
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities with the ability to provide business-focused recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and presentation, for engaging with senior government officials, board-level executives, and media representatives.
  • Ability to build strong professional networks with a high degree of integrity, diplomacy, and discretion.
