Marketing and communications UK salary guide 2024

We are delighted to announce the release of our latest 2024 Marketing and Communications Salary Guide.

The Salary Guide provides insights into both salaries and benefits for the UK market from both an agency and in-house perspective, covering areas of PR and communications, public affairs, marketing, digital, and content roles across a range of industry sectors.

Salary expectations stabilised in 2023, after escalating salary hikes the year before, aligning with the shift towards employees seeking more purposeful opportunities and a normalisation of market conditions. Benefits, particularly hybrid and flexible working, continued to shape remuneration negotiations. Our survey reveals a balancing act performed during salary negotiations, made in an effort to offset substantial cost of living increases post-COVID.

In response to the challenges of the previous year, businesses pivoted to more strategic hiring practices in Q2, emphasising multi-disciplinary skillsets to foster sustainable growth. Global regulatory pressures and the increasing significance of reputation management lead to board expansions that focused on communications, policy, and sustainability.

Hanson Search continued to expand our global presence, with consultants now spanning nine countries. We will be launching salary surveys across our global markets in the coming months and hosting global quarterly webinars to discuss the overall market condition.
