Head of Public Affairs Consultancy, Brussels or Germany

As Public Affairs Director, you will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team, developing strategic public affairs campaigns for German and international clients, and expanding the firm’s footprint in the Brussels ecosystem. You will leverage your expertise in EU policymaking and your network to connect the dots between Brussels and the consultancy’s established operations in Germany, across key sectors such as consumer goods, retail, healthcare, and energy.

Our client, a German leading independent public affairs and policy consultancy, is expanding its presence in Brussels. They are seeking an ambitious and entrepreneurial public affairs professional to establish and lead their new Brussels office, driving growth and servicing clients in EU public affairs.

Key Responsibilities for Head of  Public Affairs:

  • Establish and lead the Brussels office, driving business growth and market positioning.
  • Develop and execute public affairs strategies for German and international clients navigating the EU policy landscape.
  • Build and manage a high-performing team, fostering a strong company culture and talent development.
  • Expand the consultancy’s client portfolio, leveraging existing German relationships while securing new partnerships in Brussels.
  • Act as a thought leader and strategic advisor, engaging with key policymakers, industry stakeholders, and business leaders.

Key Requirements for Head of Public Affairs:

  • Proven experience in public affairs, with a strong track record in Brussels and an understanding of EU policymaking.
  • Expertise in key sectors such as consumer goods, retail, healthcare, or energy.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to establish and grow a new office.
  • A network of policymakers, industry stakeholders, and corporate clients in Brussels and Germany.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving growth and delivering client impact.
  • Experience working in a consultancy environment, with a proven track record in new business development.
  • Fluency in English and German is required.
