We’re currently hiring a strategic comms Director job, for a strategic comms consultancy.

Our client is a dynamic strategic communications consultancy in Central London. The company is seeking a Director to join its leadership team within the Corporate Affairs practice. This team specialises in corporate communications, sustainability, and public affairs, working with clients from fast-growth businesses to household names. The ideal candidate is an experienced corporate advisor. They’ll be passionate about building and protecting client reputations and placing purpose at the core of strategic communications.

About the Role

As a strategic comms Director, you will report directly to the Practice MD. You’ll play a crucial role in driving the next phase of growth.  Additionally, as a member of the SLT, you’ll take on both leadership and client-facing responsibilities. You’ll be responsible for managing major accounts and offering strategic counsel to senior stakeholders. A key focus will be on driving new business opportunities and helping the team build sector expertise through your network and commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Comms Director Job

  • Client Leadership & Strategic Oversight: Lead high-profile accounts, provide strategic direction, and maintain industry-leading client service standards.
  • Trusted Advisor: Offer senior counsel to clients, leveraging your creative approach to deliver impactful communications solutions and position clients as thought leaders.
  • Crisis Management: Serve as a core member of the crisis response team, overseeing crisis communications and advising clients at senior levels.
  • Communications Strategy: Develop and implement robust communications strategies, managing earned, owned, and paid media executions to enhance brand reputation.
  • New Business Development: Lead pitches and drive agency differentiation. Use your network to bring in new business opportunities and build strong client relationships to promote organic growth.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Oversee cross-functional teams, foster junior talent development, and play an active role in the senior leadership team to drive company culture.

Candidate Profile

Our client is seeking a confident, commercially-minded individual with a strong background in corporate communications and public affairs. Ideally you’ll have experience in the media, sustainability, or social impact sectors. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record of building and growing accounts, generating new business, and delivering high-quality communications solutions.
